Built by Sterling to special order in the early 1970's for an R.A.F Wing Commander - it was specified with a heavy duty chassis suitable for overseas caravan touring.
When first built an air conditioning unit was fitted on the roof, the caravan was then delivered to Saudi Arabia where it was used for many years and naturally towed overland back to the U.K!!!! behind a special order Rover SD1 3500SE that was also in our possession. During the mid 1980's a refit was carried out which included new carpets, curtains, electrical overhaul and update. The air con was removed at this time and new double glazing fitted. The caravan then had minimal use before being dry stored.
In 2004 the caravan was removed from the dry storage and the following work carried out;
Full clean inside, outside and underside,
All body joints checked and resealed as required,
Renew front window,
Waxoyl underneath,
Service tow hitch,
New hub bearings,
New brake linings,
New tyres,
New multi directional TV ariel,
New 12 volt leisure battery,
Many other service / detail items were carried out at this time to ensure the caravan was correctly and fully recomissioned including Roundstone Caravan's renewal of gas regulators, water heater and 'fridge (12v, 240v and gas) plus all systems tested to conform to legislation at that time. The caravan was used briefly before being returned to dry storage.
