One of just four known survivors on the Austin Register. This car was subject to a full body off restoration which was photographically documented. It is finished in a fetching 2 tone colour scheme of cream and brown in super condition. The bed of the truck is finished in varnished wood and presents beautifully. The car has not been in the rain since the restoration was completed and as a result is utterly corrosion free - superb.
Mechanically the car is excellent with the 2.2 litre rebuilt engine pulling strongly with good oil pressure and easily able to run at 60MPH in modern traffic all day long. The four speed column change gear box is easy to use with silent smooth changes and quiet running. The interior is re-finished in correct period materials although I suspect the Burgundy carpets to be of a quality far in excess of that offered when the car was new.
The car is a pleasure to drive, turning heads wherever it goes, and is of course incredibly rare. I hesitate to use the words "best in the world" as I have not seen the other three survivors, but this one for sure has got to be up amongst the best.
