I started racing in 1965 with the Jim Russell racing drivers' school at Snetterton. Since then I have competed in 480 events in 57 different cars with which I have achieved 110 wins, 38 of them overall, the rest being class victories. I was British Production Sports Car Champion in 1975 driving a Morgan 4/4 with 15 wins from 15 starts. I was also a co-winner of the 1982 Willhire 24 hour race driving the works Morgan +8, and I won the Historic Formula Junior Championship in1991 driving a 1963 Lotus 22. I have also had the privilege of being invited to drive the ex-Jim Clark Lotus 25 Grand Prix car and have had two historic Formula One race wins in this car in 1991 and 1992. In 1992 I had the honour of becoming a member of the British Racing Drivers' Club and since 1995 I have been on the main board of the Historic Sports Car Club.
Since 1985 I have run my own well known business dealing in historic racing cars, and in 1998 I began instructing with the Silverstone Drive racing school. I currently hold an ARDS grade A instructors licence and an MSA International B racing license.
