During 1982 Ferrari introduced a significantly more powerful version of the 208 for the Turin Motor Show Using the Tipo 106 CB V8 90 degree twin overhead camshaft per bank, 1991 cc wet sump engine and a single KKK turbocharger the power produced was 220 bhp at 7,000 rpm The compression was reduced to 7.1:1 and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection replaced the Weber carburettors
Bodywise, there were five additional cooling slats located beneath the front grille and NACA ducts were introduced just forward of the rear wheel arches on the lower body panel. Matt black vents were fitted directly behind the retractable headlights and a full width vent on the leading edge of the bonnet.
The rear of the car has a split rear bumper with a central grille and distinctive quadruple exhaust set in pairs
The interior has a central panel in fabric with a boost gauge for the turbocharger.
A total of 437 GTB Turbo models were manufactured between 1982 and 1985, with the chassis number range of 41357 to 59277
