First time to market in 40 years!!! A superb & very,very original Bentley 3 position drop head by Hooper. The car was ordered new by one Mohammed Sultan Bey of Cairo who later came to a bad end, murdered by his wife in the Savoy Hotel for of philandering!!! You have been warned!
The car is mechanically superb & has completed several leisurely trips to the south of France under the current owner's tenure. The engine starts readily with good oil pressure & pulls strongly. The car was not used for 30 years or so, other then being started regularly, until being purchased by the current owner about 10 years ago. This accounts for its largely untouched condition. The engine is the original unit. The under bonnet area is largely untouched with the exception of a modern coil.
The exterior is finished in cream & black. The paint, whilst generally good, does exhibit micro-blistering to the black areas. Inside the car has patinated cream leather in good order, with older carpets that were also once cream. Woodwork is all present & in decent condition.The hood erected easily for the first time in 10 years, & again is in excellent condition.
Coachwork is one of Hooper's finest Derby designs with a delightful semi-recessed spare wheel in the boot. The roof is of the three position variety, allowing for fully open, fully closed, or sedanca style motoring.
The car is equipped with wire wheels which exhibit some chipping & flaking of the paint, so could use some refurbishment.
All in all an important car with ultra desirable Hooper coachwork, little used & well,well preserved, ready for its next chapter in life.
