One of only a few surviving cars
and believed to be the best.
For a car built over 50 years ago,
thus is, undeniably, a joy to drive.
The gearbox is tight, ultra
short-throw and an absolute
dream. Can a car built in 1963
be this good? Damn right it can.
Impressed, YES!
And all this from a car is fitted with a
Ford 1300cc Crossflow engine.
It has been the subject of
full and meticulous,
'nut and bolt' restoration
project, which included
extensive refurbishment
and strengthening of the
original glass fibre
bodyshell.
Now finished in pristine white,
with a black interior, it represents
a rare opportunity to own a
1960s limited production
sports coupe.
The car was built by the
well respected Rochdale
Panel Company, from 1959 –
1973 using a monocoque
body shell designed
by Richard Parker.
Running gear,
were sourced by the
‘off the peg’ method of
purchasing, common to most
low volume independent
manufacturers, at the time.
This is good news for owners
of such cars, as this means
that there is likely to be a
readily available supply
of spare parts,
from various sources.
The car was available in either
road-ready form, or as a kit,
for self-assembly at home.
‘Kit-cars’ were free of UK
purchase tax, at the time and
this was a big incentive for
cash strapped 1960s petrol
heads to ‘save a bob or two’.
The total production run was
about 400, but sadly, for all of us,
only a few have survived.
The number plate '642 JAC' has been retained and is not included with the car.
Packing, shipping, air freight economically priced and arranged to your door.
