This 1965 Sunbeam Tiger MK1 has just had a complete restoration at a cost of £25,000 by a top Tiger restorer. In White and fitted with a black leather interior. Just 3 owners from new and only 81,000 miles covered. The car is still using its original 4.2 litre 260 Ford Small Block engine which results in the vehicle having good fuel consumption and high speed cruising ability.
This vehicle received a comprehensive waxoyl treatment and has had the floor pan Dynamatted for sound deadening. The engine has been rebuilt with all new parts including; performance cams, gaskets, air filter, bearings, push rods, oil pump, water pump, Hi-torque starter, new flywheel, unleaded heads, new oil pipes and engine mounts. The radiator, twin electric fans, blue silicon hoses and flexi fan are all new also.
The gear box is a new 5 speed Tremec unit, new gearstick, new gearknob, new U/js and propshaft, new clutch and master cylinder. It has new callipers, new shoes, new wheel cylinders, new polybushes, suspension rebuilt and painted, axle reconditioned and painted, period fitted anti tramp bars, new brake lines, Goodridge hoses and a new brake master cylinder. A new loom was installed three years ago and the car is currently on 14” Minilite style polished alloys, new Yokohama A520 tyres, new mohair soft top and stainless steel exhaust system. A wood rim Moto Lita steering wheel is fitted.
250 miles have been driven since the rebuild and I can claim it is the most useable powerful Tiger that I have been lucky enough to handle.
